Crime in of itself is never ending. There will always be a few bad apples that want to ruin all the good society has brought into each community. Even though the first thought that people have when thinking about fighting crime is a police officer, there are actually many more ways a person can fight crime. Whether that be through technology, in the courts, on the field, or in a lab, all of these pertain to the diverse field of criminal justice. I am here today to walk you through some of the jobs that a person can get if majoring in criminal justice.
As said before, criminal justice contains a variety of sub-fields that people can specialize in if they so desire. Some of these are:

- Probation Officer
- Police Officer
- Judge
- Forensic Science
- Private Detective
- CIA/FBI Agent
These are only a few of the jobs that people with a criminal justice background can specialize in. Each of these have their own unique characteristics that appeal to different audiences. Do you prefer to work with chemicals and to find the method that a criminal used to commit a crime? Then Forensic Science is your best bet. If you prefer to be on the field, actually catching the criminals/investigating the science of the crime, police officers or private detectives might be up your alley. Would you rather be a neutral party that oversees the integrity of the law? Then a judge might suit you. All of these can be achieved with a criminal justice degree and only represent a small minority of jobs that a person can get. Thinking about this now is important because going into the field with no inkling of what you actually want to do with a criminal justice degree is a recipe for disaster. With that said, criminal justice itself teaches valuable life skills that can be applicable in other areas such as security and communications.
